Champ and Boss Bailey’s American tavern have some pretty awesome local acts that come through regulary as well. Sometimes even get a chance to see your favorite bartender jamming out cover songs.

Funny about tip 6 1/2 – up north the advice is the opposite… The annual NYC Musical Saw Festival was earlier this month and they have a workshop (http://www.musicalsawfestival.org ). Julia might want to visit it one summer and show them how it’s done down south
